About Sheri Jurnecka |

|
Sheri Jurnecka, a former San Francisco attorney, current aquarium diver, jewelry and enameling instructor, and professional costumer and corsetiere, has enjoyed creating and wearing fanciful and historic costumes since she was a teenager. After a brief stint costuming vintage trolls, she moved on to a more diversified clientele. Her fascination with corsets stems from a passion for vintage clothing coupled with an appreciation of the importance of appropriate undergarments to create a comfortable and convincing historical silhouette. Although she is still active in the historical costuming community, her interest has evolved over time to include embellished and imaginative corsetry as the basis for opulent evening and bridal wear. |

To accommodate her diverse clientele, Sheri has made over one thousand corsets in fabrics ranging from denim and mattress ticking to silk brocade, holographic vinyl, leather, and fur. Sheri Jurnecka is an active member of the Greater Bay Area Costumers' Guild, for which she served as events coordinator for several years, and a frequent participant in balls and events by the Period Events and Entertainments Re-Creation Society. She has taught workshops and classes at costume conventions sponsored by the International Costumers' Guild, the annual Costume College put on by Costumers' Guild West, the Sewing Workshop in San Francisco, and the Crucible in Oakland. Sheri Jurnecka has outfitted members of the Northern Renaissance Faire's Albion School of Defense and Manly Men in Tights, as well as the Stanford vintage dance troupe. Her costumes and corsets have been featured in the San Francisco Examiner, The East Bay Express, ABC World News Tonight and KCBS's Evening Magazine. |
